Cam Deas is an English, predominantly 12 string, guitarist born in London.
Deas plays his guitar with such raw urgency and crisp production; it’s playing
that is hard to define. Deas will spend nearly 10 minutes on the opening track
luring you into a quiet and beautiful world before he really unleashes the picking
attack on his guitar. Influences behind the music of Cam Deas include the usual
Takoma players such as Robbie Basho, John Fahey as well as minimalists such
as Charlemagne Palestine and improvisors such as Derek Bailey. He has toured across Europe and has shared stages with the likes of Alasdair Roberts, Jack Rose, Steffen Basho-Junghans, Flower-Corsano Duo, HunterGracchus, Diane Cluck, James Blackshaw, Jozef Van Wissem, Burial Hex,Pocahaunted and SunAraw and recorded for the Netherlands VPRO. http://www.presenttimeexercises.com/#
